100 Days of Practice - Week 10

Welcome to Week 10 of the 100 Days of Practice Project! This week marks the final week of my 100 Days journey, finishing on day 70. When I first started this project I fully intended to finish the entire 100 days. While I have loved getting to share the behind the scenes processes of my practice with you, I didn’t anticipate that sharing my practice would start to make me feel like I was “on” all the time. Even through I was sharing clips of practice, the act of sharing started to make my practice space feel more like a performance space and by day 70 I started to feel like I needed my practice to be a space where I could be “off” in a non performance mode again. So after much though I made the tough decided to end the project at day 70.

Watching myself and sharing the clips over the past 70 days has made me a stronger and more self aware musician, and it has also helped me come out of my comfort zone. For me, sharing things that are a work in progress is hard to do, and the act of sharing has helped quell the perfectionist inside me and allowed my courage muscles to grow.

It has been a lot of fun getting to share my practice with you, and I have truly appreciated all your thoughtful and lovely comments! I am deeply grateful to each and everyone of you who have followed along on this journey. Thank you!
